Precision Colony Picking with Motorized Pin Actuation

CPX™-α employs a fully motorized pin actuation system, enabling individual control of each picking pin. This allows the system to adjust the distance and depth of each pin according to the exact position of every colony, ensuring accurate and consistent colony picking.

Unlike competing systems that lack independent pin control and use a fixed pin stroke, CPX™-α guarantees superior precision and reproducibility in high-throughput applications1.

Cross-Laser Pin Calibration for 99% Picking Accuracy

The advanced cross-laser calibration system ensures precise alignment and positioning of the picking pins, achieving 99% picking accuracy.

This high level of precision significantly reduces errors and ensures high-quality results in microbiology and biotechnology workflows1.

Versatile Source & Destination Plate Compatibility

CPX™-α supports many vessel types, including 9 cm and 15 cm Petri dishes, OmniTrays, and 24-, 48-, 96-, and 384-well plates (both shallow and deep).

This flexibility makes it suitable for various research needs, from microbial cultures and cell lines to synthetic biology applications1.

High-Resolution Imaging for Small Colony Detection

With industry-leading imaging resolution of 100 pixels/mm, CPX™-α can detect and pick colonies as small as 200 micrometers.

This high sensitivity and accuracy make it ideal for early-stage colony detection and applications requiring precise microbial screening and selection.
